Jubilee Year of Mercy

“At times we are called to gaze even more attentively on mercy so that we may become a more effective sign of the Father’s action in our lives. For this reason I have proclaimed an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy as a special time for the Church, a time when the witness of believers might grow stronger and more effective.”   Misericordiae Vultus, 3

The Year of Mercy will begin on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2015; and it will conclude on November 20, 2016, the Solemnity of Christ the King.  This Jubilee Year will be a time of grace for all the members of the Church and in particular for the religious communities of the CMSWR.  Each and every CMSWR community, no matter the exact nature of the apostolate, participates daily in the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.  We desire in this year to be an ever greater witness of mercy in the world – to be “a sign that the Kingdom of God is already present in our midst!”  Misericordiae Vultus, 5
