Charism Statement of the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa
In union with Mary, Mother of the Church, we strive to magnify Jesus Christ, her Divine Son, by communicating the Beauty, Goodness, and Truth of the Catholic faith in a spirit of joyful evangelization while living the fullness of the Church’s liturgical life.
The Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa is a contemplative-active community established in the Diocese of Santa Rosa, California, to pray and work for souls by communicating the beauty, goodness, and truth of our rich faith in a spirit of joyful evangelization. The contemplative spirit fostered during the years of initial formation is the foundation for their apostolic works, which include various teaching, evangelical, catechetical, musical, and liturgical “labors of love” as well as apostolates in the Diocesan Chancery. The Sisters begin each day together in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, offering a daily Holy Hour for priests and participating in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Sisters appreciate and participate in both forms of the Latin Rite, sharing with others the precious heritage of our Catholic faith. Going forth to share God’s love with others through their daily duties, they come back together to chant the Divine Office, pray the Rosary, and eat meals in a family spirit. Called to a life of total consecration to Christ and His Church through the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience, the Sisters take the Blessed Virgin Mary as their inspiration and model, dedicating their time and talents completely to the service of God and neighbor.
The Marian Sisters accept young women between the ages of 20 and 30 of good physical, mental, and emotional health with sufficient personal maturity and a burning desire to belong to Jesus Christ Crucified.
