Our community was founded in Poland in 1861 by Mother Kolumba Białecka. She formed her Sisters in the spirituality of St. Dominic, preaching the Gospel for the salvation of souls particularly through education, evangelization, and aid to the suffering. Today we continue to live our common life rooted in prayer, especially in the Eucharist. We are daily strengthened by the Blessed Sacrament in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as well as Holy Adoration. We sanctify the day with the Liturgy of the Hours, and we remain under the mantle of our Mother Mary through the Rosary.
Our province in the Americas, Immaculate Conception Province, is located in Justice, Illinois; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Columbus, Ohio; Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Alberta, Canada. Our international houses include Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Siberia, Italy, and Cameroon. Our Sisters teach in schools, perform parish ministries like catechesis, run day care programs, take care of the elderly in nursing homes, and run retreats.
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma and be in good physical, mental, and emotional health. We welcome Catholic women between the ages 18 and 35.
