CMSWR Director of Communications

General Description

The Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious (CMSWR) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time opening as Director of Communications.  The Director is responsible for supporting the mission and initiatives of the CMSWR by communicating consistently and effectively the mission, events, and initiatives of the CMSWR to both interior and exterior constituencies through electronic and print materials.  The Director works in accord with the mission and vision of the CMSWR and the Board of Directors reporting principally to the Council Coordinator.


  • Knowledge of religious life
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Social Media applications such as Facebook and Twitter, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and graphics layouts
  • Knowledge of website management software and App dashboard software needed
  • Professional Associations a plus
  • Superb writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience and comfort with facilitation of committee meetings, preparing presentations and speaking effectively in a variety of public forums as well as organizational and strategic planning experience
  • Ability to bring energy, creativity, professionalism, initiative and community relations expertise to the service of the mission of the CMSWR
