Children of Mary
Main Number: 740-323-1977
Children of Mary is a semi-contemplative Community founded in 2002 at the suggestion of Bishop James A. Griffin. Our charism and purpose of existence is to quench the Thirst of Jesus to be loved in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we strive to make every moment of our lives a ceaseless act of love to Jesus Eucharistic –with our own personal love and
adoration, and by spreading love for Him through retreat work, giving talks, leading Holy Hours, catechesis, and praying that someday everyone will love and adore Him!
We live a quiet, hidden life in Community “doing small acts with great love,” and invite laity to join us in our Chapels for the Divine Office and adoration. We also go out into the world to teach about our Lord’s True Presence in the Eucharist and the beauty of the Catholic Faith. Our apostolates include: a monthly girls group ages 8-18, a ministry at nursing homes (letting the residents know what a treasure they are to the Church and to the world as they pray and offer their sufferings for souls), and a weekly ministry at a women’s prison. We go wherever we are invited to speak to spread love and reverence for our Eucharistic Lord. We also take a fourth vow to pray for priests, one of our most important duties.
Our Motherhouse is in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Ohio and we have a daughter house in the diocese of Columbus, Ohio. We welcome women ages 18-35. If you are interested in discerning with us please contact, childrenofmarysisters@gmail.com.
