Missionaries of Charity – Contemplative

We are an international religious family completely attached to the person of Jesus and His work. Our aim is to satiate the Thirst of Jesus on the cross for love of souls by living the evangelical counsels and our fourth vow of whole-hearted and free service to the poorest of the poor. As contemplatives we also satiate His Thirst by a life of Eucharistic adoration, contemplation, solitude, fasting, penance, and going out to the poorest of the poor for two hours each day, proclaiming the Word of God by our presence and spiritual works of mercy. We have 25 missions in 14 countries.

Young women who are interested in joining us must be between the ages of 18 and 35. They must be sufficiently mature to adopt our contemplative, missionary life lived in community, and must be healthy in mind and body.
